This is the index page for all my v4 pages, and it will be changing on a regular basis.  I'm initially looking at every second weekend for new versions of these pages, until a fairly comprehensive set of tactics emerges, and will then change as new ideas/tactics come to light as the game evolves.

The main section of my site will specialise in the ships, abilities, and tactics for each of the different races that you can play in VGA Planets v4.  Due to the way my mind works, i.e. in a usually confused state, (after all, I did program in COBOL about 15 years ago ;-), you might find that ideas are duplicated or straddle the different sections of each race.  I also would like to include a section devoted to the Third Party races, that are currently being developed, but at first will just include links to these races on this page.

I will concentrate firstly on tactics and "how to do this" for The Cyborg Collective, until Tim releases other races.  Paul Honigmann is covering The Federation as part of his Tutorial, and Doug and Marie Bittinger are covering The Stormer Kingdom, so I'll leave any ideas I have on these races until I've done the first one.  Likewise,  The Peoples Army, The University Alliance and The Scavenger Tribes, followed by all other third party races, will have to wait until specific ideas crop up as players play these races, and/or I've played them, a few times.  If you have a similar site to this, I'll put a link to it on this page.

I'm concentrating on The Cyborg Collective first, as they are the race that I'm playing in 2 beta games  Due to changes since Master.exe v18, (first you don't assimilate natives at the same rate as v3, and you start with less natives), the basic early game strategy has changed already :(

Most racial tactics will be familiar to v3 players, as my experiences  with these are the tactics I'm working with and developing from, but as I'm finding out, there are some very subtle differences.  As there was only basic ground assault and planetary and economic micromanagement in v3, this is going to be where most of the new ideas come from, especially for the races that I don't like in v3, (sorry to any fans of the Birds out there ;-)

Anyway, enough waffling, onto the main reasons this page is here, the races, the race names will probably change as Tim releases new races, and we get to know the new/correct race names of the tird party races.

To all race authors, if your race is either not listed, or the link to your homepage/e-mail address  doesn't exist here or is wrong, please e-mail me with the correct information and I'll post it right away.
